Ariana Grande turned heads at the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City on January 7, but it was her candid reaction to the red carpet chaos that stole the show. The pop icon and actress, who stars as Glinda in the highly anticipated Wicked films, was taken aback by the sea of reporters awaiting her arrival.

“Oh my God, guys. There are so many microphones. This feels like a scene in a movie,” Grande exclaimed, adding her signature charm to the evening.

The 31-year-old superstar stunned in a custom pastel pink satin gown by Loewe, featuring a square-shaped bodice and an elegant backless design. She paired the dress with white pumps, a matching satin shawl, and dazzling diamond jewelry, completing her look with a sleek high ponytail and shimmery pink makeup.

By her side was her Wicked costar and boyfriend, Ethan Slater. The two shared a sweet moment on the red carpet, wrapping their arms around one another for a photo. Slater complemented Grande's look in a black satin woven suit and white dress shirt.

The gala celebrated Wicked’s critical success, with the National Board of Review naming it the best film of 2024 and awarding director Jon M. Chu Best Director. Cast members Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh were also in attendance, joining Grande and Slater to honor the film’s achievements.

Grande and Slater’s romance, which blossomed during the filming of Wicked in late 2022, remains a secondary note to the star’s ever-rising career. Their low-key but supportive relationship continues to draw attention as they shine both on and off-screen.
