Why The View didn’t address Pam Bondi’s firing: Producers say it wasn’t the right moment
The View producers said the show reviewed feedback and chose to prioritise the people

The View did not publicly address the firing of Pam Bondi during a live broadcast because producers felt the timing and context weren’t appropriate for the show’s format, according to executive producers.
In a statement, the show’s leadership explained that while the dismissal of Bondi, who was hired as a co-host in late 2024 and then quickly removed, was a notable development, it “wasn’t something we felt was right to discuss on air in that specific moment.”
Producers said the decision was made to respect the show’s focus and structure, and to ensure conversations stayed relevant to the topics planned for that day.
Bondi’s sudden exit last year drew immediate attention, sparking questions from audiences and media alike. Despite her brief run on the show, the former Florida attorney general’s time with The View became a flashpoint for discussions about hiring practices in daytime television.
However, The View producers said the show received and reviewed viewer feedback and chose to prioritise discussions that aligned with the day’s broader agenda.
Executive producers stressed that while the topic wasn’t brought up on a particular broadcast, it wasn’t being ignored entirely behind the scenes.
“We pay attention to what our audience cares about, and we take feedback seriously,” one producer told EW, adding that sensitive issues are weighed carefully within the context of daily programming.
The decision has generated mixed reactions online, with some viewers saying the show should have confronted the issue head-on, while others agreed that quick decisions about personnel aren’t always best handled in a live setting.
For now, The View appears to be maintaining its focus on current news, cultural moments, and guest discussions, leaving retrospective commentary on the Bondi situation outside its daily broadcasts.
