SHC orders petitioners to bring record of dispute over shopping mall

KARACHI:

The row over the ownership of city's famous Aashiana Shopping Mall in Clifton has landed in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

The shopkeepers and residents of the complex maintain that the developer has yet to give them the ownership rights.

A two-member SHC bench headed by Sindh Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh heard the petition related to the ownership rights dispute over the Aashiana Shopping Mall land in Clifton Block 5.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court that there is a 12-storey building on the said plot. The respondent, AG & Sons, were not handing over ownership rights of 500 shops and flats in that building.

The court ordered the petitioners to first submit previous orders related to the dispute and ordered them to submit copies of previous decisions.

'Stalker' claims FIA harassing him

A man facing charges of stalking a 13-year-old girl online and uploading her images on the social media with vile comments claimed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing officials were harassing him.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto directed the petitioner to record his statement before FIA Cybercrime officials as required by the law. The bench also directed FIA officials to continue the investigation.

Meanwhile, the petitioner's counsel told the court that the accusations against his client were baseless.
