Jilted by wife, man throws acid on brother-in-law

Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused

A jilted man threw acid on his brother-in-law after his in-laws refused to return his wife on Sunday.

According to police, a man, identified as Shaukat Shah, riding on a motorcycle threw acid on the faces of two young men near Mohini Bazaar cloth market, the main commercial center within the limits of A Section police station, and fled the scene. They received burn injuries and were taken to hospital by their relatives for medical assistance.

Police identified the victims as Shiraz Shah and Sajjad Shah, residents of Haqqani Town. According to Civil Hospital duty doctor, the right eyelid of Shiraz has been affected. He feared the eyesight could be affected. Police registered the case and started investigations.

As per preliminary investigation, the accused, Shaukat Shah is the brother-in-law of Shiraz. He subjected Shiraz to acid attack and also fired in the air outside the house of his in-laws after they refused to send his wife back home. Shiraz says that his brother-in-law is a drug addict.

Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
