6 students awarded for outstanding performance

Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) awarded 247 degrees at their convocation ceremony held on Saturday.

At the convocation, six students with outstanding academic performance were awarded Usman gold medals with Rs 25,000 cash prizes.

The convocation was presided over by Pro Vice- Chancellor NED University Dr Tufail Ahmed.

According to the details, 129 students received Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degrees, 56 students were awarded Bachelor of Sciences Computer Science degrees, and 62 students were awarded Bachelor of Sciences Software Engineering degrees.

Kinza Qamar from the department of Electrical Engineering, Rehan Ejaz from the department of Electrical Engineering, Anus Javed from the department of Electrical Engineering, Syeda Muntaha Riaz from the department of Electrical Engineering, Ubab Nadeem from the department of Computer Science and Sumaid Siraj from the department of Software Engineering secured the first position and were awarded Usman Hasham gold medals with a cash prize of Rs25,000.

Addressing the convocation, the UIT Director Dr Shoaib Zaidi said that UIT is the only institute in Pakistan that has designed 10 microprocessor chips.

On the occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor NED University Dr Tufail Ahmed congratulated the graduating students and said that it is a proud moment for both universities.

Registrar NED University Ghanzanfar Hussain, Board Members of Usman Memorial Foundation & Chancellor UIT University Qasim Hasham, Vice-chancellor UIT University Dr Johar Ali, Samir Hoodbhoy and honourable professionals Deans and Faculty members of NED University and UIT were also present.
