KARACHI:

Follow the teachings of Quaid, unity, faith and discipline, was the message echoed by the government, social and political leaders on the 146th birth anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

In a country suffering from terrorism, hatred, corruption, greed and political adventurism, the panacea of all ills was to see what the founder of the nation had perceived about the country, they said.

President Dr Arif Alvi talking to the media on his visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam said the nation should follow the guiding principles of Mohammed Ali Jinnah - unity, faith and discipline - for the development of the country.

He said that their real destination was to develop the nation as per Quaid’s vision of state that gives equal rights to all irrespective of religion, caste and creed.

Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah have laid emphasis on following the principles of Father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah for the development and prosperity of the country.

CM Murad Ali Shah along with the Sindh governor paid a visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali to pay tribute to the father of the nation on his 146th birthday. Talking to the media at the mausoleum, CM Murad said that on Jinnah’s 146th birth anniversary we should reaffirm our commitment to steer the country out of crises by forging unity and discipline.

Murad said that the nation needed unity to fight against the crisis such as financial and reemerging waves of terrorism.

He said that a new wave of terrorism has started emerging. “The incident of Bannu and Islamabad are condemnable, and this nation brought into being by Quaid-i-Azam would nip in the bud all the nefarious designs of the enemies of this country,” he said.

Murad Ali Shah said that on this day we must remember the sacrifices and struggles of the people of Kashmir for their just cause. He said that the people of Pakistan are with the oppressed people of Kashmir. The CM also recalled the problems of the people affected by the devastating floods.

He said that the winter has multiplied the problems of flood affectees. He added that his government has been trying its best to rehabilitate the flood-affected people.

Change of guard

Pakistan Air Force cadets handed over the guard duty to the cadets of the Pakistan Military Academy.

A smartly turned-out contingent of cadets from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, took the ceremonial duty of guards at the mausoleum. Major General Umer Aziz was also present on the occasion as the chief guest. He laid a floral wreath at the Mazar-e-Quaid and offered Fateha.
