Computerisation of housing societies’ records sought

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput over the petition regarding the computerisation of records of the cooperative housing society.

Principal Secretary, secretary of cooperative department, secretary of Sindh Assembly, senior member board of revenue, registrar of cooperative housing societies, secretary of information and technology, and advocate general were also put on notice.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the records of housing societies were frequently altered to defraud the investors.

Punjab has digitised records for cooperative societies and all cooperative housing society in Sindh should be ordered to computerize their records too, the petitioner said.

Meanwhile, an SHC bench disposed of the petition related to the recovery of three missing persons after police confirmed their custody.

Police officials said that Sibghatullah, Niaz and Usman were wanted by the police in different places. They were under arrest and locked up at the Sohrab Goth police station.
