Bodies of an elderly couple were found in a pool of blood at their home in the Zahra Nagar locality near Safoora Chowrangi within the remits of Sachal police station.
Their son had no idea what happened in the night and told the police he got up when the milkman started banging on the gate because his parents were not answering the doorbell in the morning.
The deceased Zahoor Ahmed, 60, and Nighat Saira, 55, were found dead with their throats slit with a sharp object, Sachal police station Mazhar Iqbal Awan said sharing details of the crime scene with The Express Tribune.
Zahoor Ahmed was former administrator of Landhi Export Processing Zone, SHO Awan said. His body was found lying in the kitchen, and his wife, Nighat Saira was discovered on the bed.
Awan further said that Mustafa, the deceased's son, told the police that he came late at night and went straight to bed. Mustafa stated that he woke up when the milkman repeatedly banged on the door but received no response.
