The Sindh High Court (SHC) approved the petition of PTI leaders for an immediate hearing against the release of the schedule for local government elections in the province. It issued notices to the Sindh advocate general, Election Commission, Government of Sindh, local government secretary, and others.

The high court heard the petition of Haleem Adil Sheikh, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, and others against issuing a schedule for local body elections in Sindh.

The court granted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) petition for an immediate hearing.

The SHC sought a written reply from the respondents by May 9.

PTI Sindh had challenged the current schedule of the fresh local government polls and raised objections over the method of local elections.

Haleem addresses lawyers

Meanwhile, Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Sheikh, while addressing senior lawyers at the Malir Bar Association, said that today, he was presenting the "case of Pakistan" to the lawyer's community. This war is not my war. "It is now a war for a stable Pakistan and Pakistan." Sheikh said the movement of PTI but it has become a peoples' revolution and the entire nation is demanding fresh, free and fair elections. He said fresh polls were the only solution to the current situation.

"The alliance of 12 parties is afraid of elections because the case is now in the court of the people who have to decide the fate of the country. He demanded a judicial commission, headed by a judge of the Supreme Court, to probe the Lettergate in incident.

"The media should be present and the case proceedings kept open."

He said that during the Zardari and Nawaz era, more than 400 drone strikes were carried out in Pakistan and legs trembled on a phone call.

The opposition leader asserted that the nation would decide whether the lettergate scandal was a conspiracy or foreign.

"The whole nation has come out in favor of Imran Khan. The National Security Committee has proven foreign intervention and the stance of PTI as factual. In the past, they might have received such threats, but this time it was Imran Khan who took a courageous stand," he added.

Haleem Adil Sheikh alleged that horse-trading took place inside the Sindh House and there was protest at the gate of the building over the matter.

"Notice was taken only of of the protest, no one took note of the horse- trading inside Sindh House where tax money of the people of Sindh has been squandered."

He added that in the past, offensive caricatures were issued worldwide, but claimed that nobody dared to speak on the issues of Namoos-eRisalat and Islam.

Haleem Adil Sheikh recalled that PTI Chairman Imran was is the first leader who effectively raised the issues on the international level, particularly in the United Nations.

"We are followers of Islam and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). That's why the nation is supporting us," he stated.

Sheikh said 0.8 million of Pakistan's civilians and soldiers embraced martyrdom as a result of the US war on terror in Afghanistan.

"There was a lack of faith in the rulers of that time who became enslaved by America. They did not even know that 220 million Pakistanis were standing side by side with the Army."

He said if Pakistan had not joined the war of the US in Afghanistan, the country would not have suffered as much.

"Why did America run away from Afghanistan? Imran Khan was only one leader who opposed drone attacks.
