Six held in capital killing incidents

In separate occurrence, stage dancer shot dead in Rawalpindi

Islamabad police have arrested six persons in the two killings incidents that took in the Bhara Kahu area on Thursday over a land dispute.

At least five men were killed while seven suffered injuries in two separate firing incidents at Seri Chowk and on Angori Road within the limits of Barakahu police station on Thursday.

Police have arrested a total of six accused including Raja Mansoor, on charges of hatching a plan that led to the killing of four people in one accident. According to the police, four people have been arrested so far in Seri Chowk incident. The other arrested accused were identified as Raja Saharban, Mohammad Adnan and Mohammad Asif.

On the other hand, two accused including Qadeer were arrested in connection with the murder of a man named Fayyaz on Angori Road over a land dispute.

Police said that raids were being carried out in different areas by teams to arrest the fleeing suspects.

According to police, cases have been registered at the Bhara Kahu Police Station under murder, attempted murder and other offences. Police have formed three separate police teams to arrest the other accused in both incidents.

Police said that members of the Raja Razi Group barged into the house of Raja Nasir Hanif and opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Raja Nasir Hanif, his colleagues Zeeshan alias Mani, Raja Haroon Advocate and a security guard were killed.

Police sources told The Express Tribune that six people have lost their lives in the last four months within the limits of Bharakahu and Bani Gala police stations. They added that the major reason behind such incidents was that transparent investigation is not carried out in cases of land disputes.

Dancer shot dead

A stage dancer, Naveed Hussain, was shot dead at Ciros Theater in the limits of Cantonment Police Station in Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to the police, Imran Venas, along with other accomplices, killed Hussain and escaped after committing the crime.

A case has been registered. The management of Ciros Theater has also been investigated because of its poor security arrangements at the theater.

Police said that Hussain was a member of stage dancer Mehr Noor's team. During a dance at the Ciros Theater, Hussain and Venas had a minor altercation after which Venas took out his pistol and opened fire at Hussain, killing him on the spot.

Police said that the deceased's body has been handed over to his brother Qadeer Hussain. The slain dancer hailed from Gujranwala.

Police are looking into the case and making attempts to arrest the culprit.
