ITP launched Road Safety Campaign in order to ensure traffic discipline in the city

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched a Road Safety Campaign in order to ensure traffic discipline in the city and overcome accidents by creating awareness about traffic rules among road users.

The drive was inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Qazi Jamilur Rehman and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police (Security) Waqaruddin Syed on Tuesday in a ceremony organised at Sector F-8 Exchange chowk, which was attended by ITP Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farrukh Rasheed, other officers and citizens.

Rasheed said the ITP Education Team, ITP's Float, Capital Highway Inspection Patrolling Squads (CHIPS), Quick Response Team, the staff of ITP FM Radio 92.4 and other operations staff will participate in the campaign.

The SSP (Traffic) said teams would remain present in shifts at Faizabad, Dhokri Chowk, Khayaban Chowk, Express Chowk, Shaheen Chowk, Jinnah Super Market, Super Market, Blue Area, G-9 Markaz, F-10 Markaz, G-11 Markaz, Aabpara Market and other areas to educate citizens about traffic rules.

He said motorcyclists would be educated about using front and rear mirrors, maintaining lane discipline and avoiding the use of mobile phones during driving.
