KARACHI:

With those responsible for assassinating prominent religious scholar Maulana Dr Adil Khan and his driver still at large a month after the murder, the Sindh govern announced a reward of Rs5 million for those who assist in identifying the culprits.

In the month since the assassination, the police have failed to make any significant headway in the investigation, only sending a summary to the Sindh Home Department requesting the allocation of a monetary reward for assistance in identifying the killers.

The Sindh government approved the proposal, issuing a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

Khan and his driver were gunned down near Shama Shopping Centre in Shah Faisal Colony on October 10. The case was registered on the complaint of the Shah Faisal Colony SHO and the investigation subsequently was handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department.

Sindh IGP Mushtaq Mahar had also formed a committee, headed by Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon, to investigate the case.
