MQM-London target killer 'wanted for 111 murders' arrested in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a target killer affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L), Express News reported.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, SSP East Ghulam Azfar Mahesar revealed that the target killer was involved in the killings of at least 111 people.

“The arrested target killer was an employee of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi. His entire network has been busted. Some 57 such cases against the group have so far surfaced,” the police official said.

Search operations were also being conducted in the city to find other members of the group.

“The target killer was also involved in the tragic events of May 12 [occurred in Karachi in 2007] . He later changed his appearance and left for missionary activities in other parts of Pakistan, " according to SSP Mahesar.

In February, the Pakistan Rangers had arrested eight suspects that they claimed were responsible for the fresh wave of terrorism in Karachi during past three months.
