Ayaz, in his message to Shah Mahmood, also said that the joint opposition had decided that the PTI government needed to give the house its due respect and importance in order to earn the support of its members.

The former National Assembly Speaker pointed out that, even when the country faces a serious national issue, the prime minister considers it beneath his dignity to engage with parliament, which is an unacceptable attitude. He reminded Qureshi that, in the past, the prime minister had even missed an event as important as the Kashmir Conference.
He claimed that the opposition had played a constructive and positive role on key issues like defence, the economy and national security ever since the PTI came to power, but warned that the opposition would not allow the government to use real national challenges for ‘political point scoring’.
He said that the opposition would not accept Imran Khan’s dichotomy of cursing and calling for consultation at the same time, adding that the prime minister would need to prove through consistent actions that he respected and honoured the august parliament and all its members.
