KARACHI:

The international technological advancements in the IT field have finally reached Pakistan and despite their late entry, it is evident that large IT companies are combining to raise customer awareness of their products.

There are few consumer-oriented expos, where people may experience products and wares, and it seems that the idea is gaining popularity.

Intel, on the second day of its new processor launch at the weekend, held an exhibition at the Park Towers shopping mall to display the newly-launched product. Intel Pakistan Marketing Programme Manager Asma Aziz was banking on a couple of thousand customers who visit the mall every weekend, hoping their exposure to the event makes them more aware of the launch.

“What we are doing here is part of the grand launch for the second generation Core family.

Usually what happens abroad is that we have expos like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES),” explained Aziz.

She informed that the launch had been made to coincide with CES, where the product was unveiled abroad. “In Pakistan, we do not have many avenues for doing such a thing,” she lamented. “These events must be industry-specific, rather than focusing on the work of a single firm,” said Aziz.
