KARACHI:

Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that they will provide all facilities to the industrialists of Gujranwala for establishing their businesses and industries in Karachi.

"We will provide single-window facilities to the industrialists from Gujranwala," he said, while speaking at the opening ceremony of the first Gujranwala Expo at the Karachi Expo Centre on Friday.

Nasir added that the Gujranwala industry has demonstrated its capabilities by coming to Karachi and having such a large number of industrial clusters within a single city is both remarkable and encouraging.

He praised Gujranwala Chamber president and his team for successfully organising the event despite challenging circumstances and lockdown-related obstacles.

While welcoming all local and international participants at the expo, Nasir Hussain emphasised that Gujranwala has a very high and valued position in Pakistan's industrial landscape and presenting the city's products at this scale is a major milestone.

"The Gujranwala Expo will help promote business and positive activities, which in turn will reduce the cost for the country's imports and exports," he said.

On the occasion, Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Muhammad Ali Hamyoon Butt said that they have brought 65 companies to this exhibition because they deem Karachi very important for the expansion of their businesses.

He informed the audience that they are currently exporting goods worth $3.5 billion to 68 countries through 21,000 SMEs in Gujranwala.

"The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this exhibition and bringing leading brands from Gujranwala with innovative products and technologies to the biggest city and economic hub of the country.
