DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least four people were killed in a road accident in Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday. A police official told The Express Tribune a speeding trailer hit a passenger van on Indus Highway within the precincts of Sadar Din police station.

He added, “The collision was so intense that four people were killed on the spot while 10 others suffered critical injuries.”

The deceased were identified as   45-year-old Sher Bahadur and his wife, Lalima Bibi, 35 and Muhammad Farooq, 36.

The official said soon after the incident, rescue workers and police reached the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to Teaching Hospital, Dera Ghazi Khan for treatment and legal formalities.

He maintained the driver of the trailer managed to escape from the scene.  However, the police have registered a case and started searching for the accused driver.

Meanwhile, a boy was killed when two motorcycles collided on Quetta Road. The victim was identified as Khair Muhammad. The police said Khair was on his way home on the two-wheeler when it hit another motorcycle.
