MANSHERA: A man was killed while five others, including two women, were injured when a recklessly driven truck rammed into a minivan near Ghazikot on Sunday afternoon.

Police and eyewitnesses said that a Mazda truck (RLE-9553) was heading towards Mansehra City. Near the Ghazikot Township, it collided head-on with a Suzuki high-roof (CK-7660) which was heading in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision, a passenger sitting in the front seat died on the spot while five others were critically injured.

The man was later identified as Banaras hailing from the Jabori village. The injured were identified as Gulzar Bibi, Ansa Bibi, Habibur Rehman, Sabir and Abdul Salam.

The dead and injured were rushed to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where the three of the critically injured were referred to Ayub Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad.
