KARACHI: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Monday urged political parties to evolve a joint strategy for further strengthening the National Action Plan (NAP).

The speaker, on a day long visit to Karachi, told reporters that efficient implementation of NAP was extremely crucial and needed to be further reinforced.

"It is important to tackle the serious challenges faced by the country," he said.

In reply to a question he said that the current situation demanded that all political parties rise above and join hands for the national cause. "We have to work together for the sake of national interest," he said.

Earlier, he visited the residence of MNA Sajid Ahmed of MQM and Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, to extend his condolence on the demise of the MNA’s father and brother, and Dr Zufiqar Mirza’s mother.
