SUKKUR: Ghotki police arrested more than two dozen suspects during a combing operation in Daharki and Yaroo Lund police limits on Sunday, who were later on released after interrogation.

A heavy contingent of the police raided various localities of Daharki, including Labour Colony, Baloch Colony, Mustafa Abad, Jung Colony and others. During the house-to-house search, the police arrested suspects and seized 15 motorcycles, which did not have documents.

The suspects were shifted to an unidentified location for questioning, after which they were released. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Ghotki SSP Masood Bangash said that the operation, which has been going on since many days, is to eliminate criminals from the district.

A Daharki based reporter claimed that the police often conduct such operations and nab many suspects, who are later released as no evidence is found against them. Ghotki district is situated on the Sindh-Punjab border. As a result, Ghotki residents have relatives in the bordering towns of Punjab who frequently visit their relatives in these towns.
