SUKKUR: A team of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Sukkur, arrested on Monday three men, including two employees of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Rohri branch, for their alleged involvement in withdrawing the pension of an expired employee of the irrigation department, during a raid conducted on secret information in different areas of Rohri.

The arrested men were identified as, Mohammad Amin and Ghulam Mohammad Pathan, who are NBP employees, and Badshah Dino Soomro.

Soomro's father, who expired during service eight years ago, was an employee of the irrigation department, informed an anti-corruption officer, adding that after his father's death, Soomro's mother started getting pension, but she too died after one year.

After his mother's death, Soomro colluded with NBP employees, Amin and Pathan and presented another woman before the bank officer, introducing her as his mother to fraudulently withdraw the pension, stated the officer. A case has been registered against the three men and the accused will be produced before the court Tuesday morning, he added.
