DHA Karachi renames Beach Avenue after Abdul Sattar Edhi

Decision was taken during a meeting of the authority chaired by its president Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar

KARACHI: Karachi's Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has decided to rename Beach Avenue on Seaview as Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue in recognition of the welfare services by the legendary philanthropist.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the authority chaired by its president Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar.

Statement released by the DHA said renaming decision is reflective of the deep-seated reverence for the veteran welfare social activist.

It was also pointed out that the Beach Avenue is among the most popular roads of the metropolis, frequented by a large number of citizens.

DHA Administrator Brig Zubair Ahmed paid respect to Edhi “whose voluntary and dedicated social work for the humanity is epitome of his spiritual and moral greatness”.

The administrator also prayed for the health, long life and well-being of the top philanthropist, according to the statement released.
