Patriata chairlift: Uplift project under consideration
The Punjab government has not undertaken any major uplift of the project ever since
RAWALPINDI:
The Punjab government is considering renovation and uplift of the Patriata chairlift in Murree at a cost of around Rs90 million. “We have submitted a PC-1 to the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab for renovation of the 25-year-old chairlift,” said Patriata Chairlift Manager Muhammad Raza on Monday. The chairlift, which connects three picnic points, was inaugurated in 1990. The Punjab government has not undertaken any major uplift of the project ever since. Raza said the project includes installation of new chairs replacing the existing ones with a fit-in canopy to protect riders from cold winds and snow.
