Timely action by railway employees, police and the bomb disposal squad saved the Khushal Khattak Express and its passengers, when a bomb planted on the railway tracks near Madadpur, Jacobabad was spotted and defused.


According to reports, while patrolling the railway track near Madadpur, a gangman spotted a bomb planted on the railway track. After informing the railway authorities, the man also informed the police, who rushed to the site and immediately called the bomb disposal squad from Sukkur.

The bomb disposal squad reached the site and successfully defused the bomb, declaring the track clear, after which the Peshawar-bound Khushal Khattak Express was allowed to pass through. The bomb was of local origin, weighed around five kilogrammes and was attatched to a remote controlled device. A case has been registered against the unknown accused, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
