KARACHI:

After Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's visit to Lyari, his sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari took to the SOS Children's Village in Malir on Friday.

She announced to provide for all the needs of the children living in the village out of her own pocket. Aseefa mingled with the children and distributed gifts among them. She also asked the management of SOS Children's Village about the needs of the children.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Shaheena Baloch, who belongs to the area, said, "Malir and Lyari are strongholds of the PPP.

This visit was meant to interact with the people and hold meetings with the representatives of social organisations, including Edhi, which recently helped the poor during the heatwave in Karachi. Since Aseefa is engaged in the anti-polio drive and social welfare activities, therefore, her visit was more social than political."  Political observers link these visits of Bilawal and Aseefa to the campaign for the upcoming local bodies elections.
