Eight checkpoints launched against fake number plates
.

The police have launched a large-scale crackdown against vehicles and motorcycles with unauthorised number plates across the city. As part of the campaign, eight checkpoints have been established at key locations.
Checkpoints have been set up at Clifton Teen Talwar, Shahrah-e-Quaideen (Allah Wali Chowrangi), Orangi Town Chowk, Nazimabad Petrol Pump Chowrangi (Hakim Ibn-e-Sina Road), Chamra Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial Area, National Highway (Port Qasim Chowk), Mauripur Road (Sachal Mazar), and Merewether Tower, where vehicles are being thoroughly checked.
Additionally, approximately 30,000 vehicles have been blacklisted. These include vehicles that have not been transferred to new owners after sale, vehicles reported stolen after tickets were issued, and those using duplicate or fake number plates. A summary regarding blacklisted vehicles has been sent to the Additional IG Karachi, who is expected to make a decision soon.
Teenage boy defies police
During the campaign, a teenage boy managed to escape from Clifton's Teen Talwar checkpoint, right in front of DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah.
According to details, the traffic police had signaled the vehicle to stop for using a police-style flashing light and for reckless driving. The boy initially stopped and stepped out of the vehicle in anger but then suddenly got back in and sped away.
While fleeing, he drove recklessly, nearly hitting people standing nearby and violating traffic signals. Despite the presence of both traffic and district police personnel, officers failed to stop the boy.
Traffic police officials stated that the vehicle's plate number has been noted. The car is registered under the name of a private bank. The vehicle has been blacklisted, and a search operation is underway.
