KARACHI: At least two suspects allegedly involved in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid Hussain's murder appeared on Friday before an anti-terrorism court in Karachi, Express News reported.

Hussain served as PTI central vice president and was shot dead outside her house in Defence Housing Authority area on May 18, 2013, on the eve of re-polling in the NA-250 constituency.

Police brought the accused, Irfan alias Lamba and Kaleem, to the ATC while Rashid and Zahid Abbas Zaidi failed to appear before the court today (May 22).

Kaleem has been allegedly involved in numerous murder cases including that of the PTI leader’s.

As a result, the court summoned the witnesses on June 1 to rule whether the four will be indicted or not.

On May 18, PTI chief Imran Khan vowed to bring her killers to justice.

Salman - SK | 8 years ago | Reply Let's hope they have nabbed the right persons. Confessions through torture is commonplace in Pakistan and much credence cannot be given to such arrests as they come about only when the law enforcement agencies are under pressure due to recent events. Once these events dissipate so do the "criminals" and their "confessions."
