LAHORE: Norwegian Ambassador Leif H Larsen on Thursday announced the opening of the Royal Norwegian Consulate in Lahore.

Naveen Fareed has been appointed as Norway’s first honorary consul in Lahore.

Ambassador Larsen said the opening of the embassy signifies a strengthening of Norway's ties with Lahore and with Punjab. In addition to providing services to Norwegian nationals in the area, the new consulate will also help bilateral business relations, he added.

“I am delighted to have Naveen on board Team Norway and look forward to working with her,” the ambassador added.

The opening of the consulate is deemed a healthy step for both Pakistanis and Norwegians visiting Pakistan.
