143 kids return home in three months

Pakistan Railways Police have reunited 143 missing children, including runaways, with their families and returned valuables worth millions of rupees to passengers across the country, according to a quarterly performance report released on Sunday.
The report covers the period from January 1 to March 31, 2026, highlighting significant welfare and service achievements by the department at railway stations nationwide, including Lahore Railway Station.
According to the data, 143 missing boys and girls were safely traced and handed over to their rightful guardians.
In addition, 583 passengers were reunited with their lost belongings, with a total estimated value of Rs16.2 million.
Railways Police also provided assistance to 3,176 passengers, including elderly men and women, as well as sick and injured individuals, by offering wheelchairs, stretchers, and first aid facilities.
Among the divisions, Lahore topped the list in tracing missing children, successfully reuniting 48 with their families. Other divisions included Rawalpindi (34), Karachi (24), Multan (16), Sukkur (14), and Peshawar (7).
In terms of passenger assistance, Peshawar division showed outstanding performance by helping 1,192 individuals, followed by Lahore (907), Multan (389), Sukkur (279), Karachi (209), Rawalpindi (121), and Quetta (79).
