Caught in the act: Man arrested for trying to blow up pipeline

Kandhkot police claim to have arrested a suspect who was allegedly planting a bomb to blow up the main PPL pipeline supplying gas to Balochistan. Police claimed the suspect was caught in the act and a large quantity of explosive material, wires detonators and a pistol were seized from his possession.


Kandhkot A-section police, while on routine patrol, noticed five suspects lurking near the PPL main gas pipeline.

They were allegedly trying to plant a bomb to blow up the pipeline. On seeing the police, the suspects opened fire at them.

After a brief exchange of fire, the police managed to arrest one of the suspects, who was identified as Abdul Shakoor Bugti, while four of his accomplices disappeared in the bushes.

Head constable Ghulam Mustafa Bijarani told The Express Tribune that an FIR No. 87/2015 under sections 3-4 of the Explosives Act, Section 6-7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and 324 and 353 of the Pakistan Penal Code have been registered against the culprit.
