Busted: Police nab alleged smuggler in AJK

In another incident two men stabbed and injured a man in Bhimber, AJK.

MUZAFFARABAD:


An alleged drug smuggler was held in Khoiratta area of Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).


An alleged drug smuggler identified as Muhammad Malik was travelling in a van which was stopped on a tip-off by the police in Khoiratta market after which police arrested the drug peddler along with 800 grams of hashish and 40 bottles of liquor.


Police also recovered a pistol and 15 bullets from Malik. The alleged smuggler was wanted in various cases. An FIR was registered, said an official.


In another incident two men stabbed and injured a man in Bhimber, AJK. According to the police, Bilal Ahmad, 20, was thrashed and stabbed by two masked men near the Government Pilot High School when he was on his way home after offering prayers.


Passersby shifted the injured person to DHQ Hospital where doctors said Ahmad will be discharged within 24 hours. The police have registered a case.
