Agriculture loans: AJK bank gets Rs4 million for loan scheme

MUZAFFARABAD:


The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday released another instalment of Rs4 million to Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bank (AJKB) aimed at providing mark-up free loan to farmers.


The bank has already received Rs8 million for the loan scheme.


“It is our priority to encourage the farmers to cultivate more crops and boost livestock,” said AJK Agriculture Minister Bazil Ali Naqvi.


The minister said that over 80 per cent population of the region lived in rural and promotion of agriculture was vital to empower them financially.


He said promotion of the agriculture sector was a priority for the government.
