Treason case

On October 13, Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court referred a petition seeking a treason case against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to the chief justice, requesting him to fix it before a full bench already hearing cases against both of them.

Advocate AK Dogar filed the petition saying that Khan and Qadri had taken out rallies and held dharnas in violation of an order passed by a full bench of the court. He alleged that both leaders were bent on derailing the democratic process and should therefore be tried for treason.

Bagram jail

On October 14, Lahore High Court directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior to submit details of Pakisanis released from Bagram Jail, Afghanistan, and repatriated to Pakistan.

Barrister Sara Belal said 23 Pakistanis had been released from Bagram.

The Lahore High Court had ordered the authorities to let them meet their families, yet the order had not been complied with.

She said this was a violation of court orders.

Tracker in the belly

Lahore High Court directed the Ghaziabad station house officer to record the statement of a petitioner who accused her former husband and his accomplices of getting a tracker surgically installed in her belly to spy on her.

Sughran, a resident of Ghaziabad, said her former husband Saleem used to press her to become a prostitute.

After she left him, he abducted her and got a tracker installed in her belly at Services Hospital.

LHC website hacked

An Indian citizen hacked the Lahore High Court’s website and left messages on it for Pakistan Peoples Party patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to stop issuing statements about Kashmir belonging to Pakistan, because it belonged to India.

SAHOO, an Indian hacker, claimed responsibility for the cyber attack. The website was later restored.
