LAHORE:

A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has been dismissed from service after being found guilty of misuse of authority and inappropriate conduct with a female complainant during an investigation, officials said.

According to an official inquiry report, the officer, identified as DSP Hassan, was accused of developing an improper relationship with a complainant while handling her case and allegedly pressuring her by offering to resolve her legal issues in exchange for personal meetings.

The complainant had initially filed a harassment application against the officer in 2023.

An inquiry conducted under DIG Ameen Bukhari had earlier recommended a minor penalty. However, upon the complainant's request for a review, a fresh investigation was ordered.

Subsequently, a detailed probe was carried out by Additional IG Muhammad Idrees, followed by another review by Additional IG Imran Mehmood.
