21 held for lodgingfabricated cases

MULTAN:

Muzaffargarh police have initiated action against those involved in lodging false First Information Reports (FIRs) in police stations across the district.

A spokesman said Muzaffargarh Saddar and Chowk Sarwar Shaheed city police had launched a crackdown against complainants and witnesses found involved in filing false cases.

Action has been taken in 21 cases in which the claims of the complainants were found false during investigations. The cases included serious allegations like rape, kidnapping and other offences that were proven baseless.

Four complainants from Chowk Sarwar Shaheed and 17 from Saddar were taken into custody.
