Addressing a press conference on Thursday at the library of DJ Science College, he said the SPLA delegation called on Pasha at his office and exchanged views on different problems that teachers of government colleges were facing.
The chief secretary also assured them that he will forward a summary about the time-scale issue to relevant authorities. Pasha has called for another meeting with the association on November 25 to discuss this issue.
Prof Mirza said SPLA appreciates the role played by Pasha and Secretary Education Allamuddin Bullu in trying to solve the teachers’ problems.
On Wednesday, SPLA members marched from DG Science College, with the intention to protest in front of the Chief Minister House. However, around 16 teachers were arrested by the police and the rally was prevented from going to the CM House. Later the teachers were released. The rest of the SPLA members continued their protest and staged a sit-in in front of DG Science College.
