New appointment: Amin Wains is new city police chief

The government on Monday posted DIG Capt (retired) Muhammad Amin Wains as the new capital city police officer (CCPO).

LAHORE: The government on Monday posted DIG Capt (retired) Muhammad Amin Wains as the new capital city police officer (CCPO). He was earlier serving as additional IG in the Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Wains, who belongs to 16th Common of Civil Service of Pakistan, joined the police force in 1988 as ASP. He was promoted to the rank of SP in 1994.

He has served as senior superintendent and deputy inspector general in various cities of the Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sialkot. He has also worked as the regional police officer in Gujranwala and Multan. Muhammad Amin Wains was appointed in the Counter Terrorism Department in May this year.
