LAHORE:

Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said on Wednesday that people who opposed the government were, in fact, against development in the country.

He was inaugurating an Independence Day camp at Model Town.

“The journey towards development  cannot be stopped by any long march. The nation will not allow these elements to derail democracy,” he said.

Rafique said the nation supported the army, which was fighting the terrorists. “However, some elements are trying to create chaos,” he said. He said political parties should promote solidarity among citizens.

Rafique said that independence celebrations would continue throughout the month under the leadership of the PML-N. “Such activities will highlight the ideology of Pakistan among the youth.

Everyone, including women, workers, traders and students, should participate in these activities,” he said.
