Five children killed as wedding hall wall collapses

Five children lost their lives after the wall of a wedding hall on the outskirts of Village Shekham collapsed due to heavy rain.
According to local officials, two children died on the spot, while others succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Lahore during treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when the children were standing near the hall, waiting for the wedding procession, and sudden heavy rain caused the wall to collapse, burying them.
The deceased children were identified as Umar Farooq, Allah Wasaya, Haseeb, Haider, and Saeed.
Kasur Deputy Commissioner Asif Raza and acting District Police Officer Chaudhry Ziaul Haq visited the Bulleh Shah District Hospital, checked on the injured children, and instructed doctors to provide the best medical care.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the death of the children caused by the wall collapse due to rain.
She extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in incidents of collapsing walls and roofs.
The chief minister also directed the administration to conduct a thorough survey of dilapidated buildings and take precautionary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
