KARACHI:

Transparency International Pakistan has called the advertisement for the six positions in the government departments as discriminatory and non-transparent and against the policy of zero tolerance against corruption, announced in 2013 election manifesto of PML-N.

Drawing the attention of PM Nawaz Sharif towards appointments of the heads of government controlled bodies, TI Pakistan said, the government should follow the Supreme Court judgement in this regard or it can face contempt of court proceedings.

Unfortunately, the ministries concerned have made many appointments directly, bypassing the Federal Commission for Selection of Head of Public Sector Organisations constituted on July 17, 2013.

In this regards, on June 20, 2014, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the IHC has restrained the federal government from making appointments on high-profile positions that violate the SC verdict in the Khawaja Asif case, TI Pakistan pointed out.
