LAHORE: Peoples Party leader from Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad Chaudhary Khalid Mustafa Bajwa called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader and former deputy prime minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi at his residence on Saturday.

Bajwa announced that he would be joining the PML along with Hassan Mustafa Bajwa, Chaudhary Sarwar Gujjar and hundreds of their supporters.

Chaudhary Khalid Bajwa said his father Chaudhary Ghulam Mustafa Bajwa and brother Tariq Bajwa had been elected MNAs on the PPP ticket. He said people remembered the great services rendered by Chaudhary Parvez Elahi as chief minister.

He said Elahi had taken historical measures for progress, development and the prosperity of the common man. He said the law and order situation had deteriorated since then, and the prices of food and other essential commodities had increased.

He said the current government failed to provide gas and electricity. He said the government leaders had promised to end electricity load shedding within six month but were now saying the worst load shedding was yet to come.

Welcoming Bajwa and his colleagues into the party fold, Elahi said his government had created employment opportunities. He said they had conducted proper planning, constructed roads, hospitals, schools, colleges and established police patrolling posts. He said they had ensured the provision of free education and medicines.
