MITHI: Two peacocks have died and a dozen more have reportedly fallen ill in various villages of Thar over the last couples of days.

The two peacocks died at village Hathni while a dozen more fell ill at other villages, including Sengalo, Bhabhtoi and Jakhnor. The wild-life department’s personnel have not visited the area to treat the peacocks that have contracted the viral disease. Villagers claim that the condition of peacocks is worsening and more are likely to die if appropriate steps are not taken by the government.
