Sindh orders probe into 'irregularities' in exam centres

KARACHI:

The Sindh government has launched a high-level fact-finding inquiry into alleged irregularities surrounding the transfer of examination centres and reported misconduct within the Secondary Education Board Karachi.

The committee was formed on the directives of Sindh Universities and Boards Minister Ismail Rahoo and established through a notification issued by the Secretary of the Universities & Boards Department Sindh.

According to a spokesperson, the inquiry committee has been tasked with completing its investigation within 15 days and submitting its findings to the provincial minister.

The Special Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department will serve as convener of the committee, while the Chairman of the Technical Board and the Additional Secretary (Boards) will act as members.

The committee will examine why examination centres were changed before or during exams and whether such deci-sions were influenced by financial gain, nepotism, or unlawful pressure. It will also investigate allegations of irregulari-ties in the allocation of exam centres, collusion, and misuse of authority.

Minister Ismail Rahoo stated that the committee will identify officials and employees involved in any wrongdoing, add-ing that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those found responsible.
