Sindh launches special polio booster campaign
.

Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho has inaugurated a special polio booster vaccination campaign aimed at strengthening efforts to eliminate the poliovirus from the province.
Under the campaign, millions of children across Sindh - including in 89 union councils of Karachi - will receive booster doses through door-to-door visits and designated vaccination centres.
The launch ceremony was held at the Sindh Secretariat in Karachi, where the minister formally administered polio booster doses to children, marking the start of the province-wide drive. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the Sindh government is utilising all available resources to eradicate polio completely and stressed that immunisation remains the most effective protection against the disease.
She urged parents to ensure that children aged four to 10 years receive the polio booster dose, warning that failure to do so could leave them vulnerable to lifelong disability.
Dr Pechuho further said that special arrangements have been made for the security of vaccination teams and access to sensitive areas to ensure uninterrupted vaccine delivery to every eligible child.
