Smoke, gas leak: Two dozen faint at chehlum

Police say over 50 people had gathered at house in Loharan Wali Gali to attend Chehlum of relative.

RAWALPINDI: Due to smoke and gas leakage, around two dozen people from the same family fell unconscious in a house in the limits of Pirwadhai police station, police said. According to the police, over 50 people including women and children had gathered at a house in Loharan Wali Gali to attend the Chehlum of a relative. Due to smoke emitting from a generator and a gas leak in the house, around two dozen people fell unconscious. They were taken to District Headquarters Hospital and Holy Family Hospital by neighbours. Sources in hospitals said all the victims are out of danger.
