Child abuse: Teen ‘gang raped’

FAISALABAD: Three men have been accused of sexual assault of a teenage girl.

Police quoted Sabir Ahmad*, uncle of the girl, as saying that his niece, Amna*, was returning from a market on Friday when three men kidnapped her.

He told the police that she was then taken to a field outside the village and raped. He said they had also beaten her over resistance. They had later left. He said she returned home and told her parents about the incident. She was taken to the district headquarters hospital, where doctors treating her confirmed physical assault. They said it had yet to be determined if the girl was raped.

Tandlianwala station house officer told The Express Tribune that a case had been registered on the complaint of the girl’s parents. He said the police were waiting for the medical examination report.

He said a police team had been formed to trace the whereabouts of the suspects, who he said, were at large.

In another rape case that was also reported on Friday, Tandlianwala police said a 17-year-old girl was raped by three men in Chak 612-GB.

Police said a case had been registered and the suspects were being looked for.

Elsewhere in Noorpur Town and Green Town, two women were reported to have been abducted in the last 24 hours. Police said they were raiding places to recover the women.
