KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet is expected to swell to fifteen with the government due hand more ministries to members of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Express News reported early on Wednesday.

The Sindh government had previously held off from awarding ministries beyond a handfull, hoping to use the cabinet seats as a bargaining chip to woo the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to come over to the treasury benches as coalition partners.

However, when the MQM was not swayed, the PPP, which has simple majority in the assembly, has decided to go ahead with appointing its own members to cabinet positions.

Sources told Express News that among the possible ministers are former minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Gyan Chand, Murad Ali Shah, Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, Rubina Qaimkhani, Jam Khan, Ali Mardan Shah and Jam Mehtab Dahar.

These expected ministers may take their oath as soon as Wednesday evening.
