Accidental?: Girl wounded in explosion

Police officials ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack and said that the explosion was a mere accident.

KARACHI: A low-intensity explosion took place in Shoe Market area at Garden on Monday wounded a minor girl.

After the explosion, commercial activities were partially suspended in the area, while an extra contingent of law enforcers reached the site to collect evidence.

Police officials ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack and said that the explosion was a mere accident.

The explosion happened in the house of a police hospital’s technician, situated on the third floor of Rasheed Manzil. The injured girl was identified as Ayesha.

DSP Zahid Hussain said that the explosive material was concealed in a cricket ball.
