Illegal Confiscation: Police ordered to record statement

An additional district and sessions judge directed police officials to record the statement of a petitioner against an SHO and other police officials who allegedly stopped a goods container on the occasion of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s chehlum.


The petitioner claimed that the police also stole its cargo of medicines.

Petitioner Muhammad Ibrahim said he was a truck driver who delivered goods in Karachi and Lahore. He said that on January 2, he was stopped by the Lower Mall SHO Ijaz Goraya.

He said the SHO directed his men to take use the truck to block the road.

He said when his truck was returned 13 cartons of medicine were missing. He prayed the court to direct the police officers to register a case against the eight unidentified constables and the Lower Mall SHO.
