KARACHI:

A grenade attack at a police post in Sohrab Goth injured two policemen on Tuesday. Police suspect that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was behind the attack.

Mukhtar Hussain and Altaf Nazeer were wounded when at least two men on a motorcycle threw a hand grenade at the al-Asif police post. The culprits escaped. The injured were taken to Jinnah hospital.

Members of the bomb disposal squad and policemen later reached the area to inspect the blast site. An FIR was registered.

The police did not, however, name the TTP suspects in the FIR due to the lack of evidence.

DSP Qamar Ahmed told The Express Tribune that the grenade attack on Tuesday was in response to those operations that they are conducting in Sohrab Goth.
